Kaarel Kotkas is the founder and CEO of Veriff. Veriff is a global online identity verification company that protects businesses and their customers from online identity fraud by making sure that a person is who they claim to be. Being a tech-savvy serial entrepreneur, Kaarel started two companies before settling his focus on Veriff in 2015. Today Veriff serves a global portfolio of internet businesses including fintech companies, sharing economy providers and marketplaces in London, New York, San Francisco, Berlin, Vienna, and other major cities. Veriff is an alumnus of the startup accelerator Y Combinator and has raised €7.35m ($8.3m) in funding. Veriff employs close to 300 people in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2017, Nordic Business Report listed Kaarel Kotkas among the 25 most outstanding young entrepreneurs of Northern Europe.
